Influential texts

I am going to use these images to conduct feedback interviews with my audience to gather their psychographic preferences, opinions and values on what they expect from the video  ...

After listening to the song, what kind of style do you expect the video to follow and which of these images relates most to that style .

-would

-do you think the video would look good in black and white and would it suit the song?
-do you think a basic mise-en-scene such as the one in this image would be good for the video or does it need something more interesting?

-do you think a mise-en-scene such as this one would work well with the song or should it be filmed in a more natural setting like in the picture above?

Influential texts

This is the audio of my chosen song, I have uploaded it so I can play it to the people I am going to interview and see if they can visualise something similar to what I will be trying to film .

Lyrics to chosen song

If you can't see through it all
If you can't see that I'm here
Did the moment pass you by
Are the words out to try

Cause you were what i thought you thought i knew
I followed you so fast
Made me run and then i learned that taking time will make us last

Tell me if you love someone
She tells you how to live your life
Looking for something more
Don't wanna be nobody else
And you let them know that

It's not you
You're not afraid
Lines around your eyes will disappear

If you don't know where you go
If you won't leave til it's done
Tell me if there can't be won
I don't know where we should run

Watch and hear the noise it makes you smile
But it will make you burned
We're all rushing in around
Let's make it work and see what we have learned

Tell me if you love someone
She tells you how to live your life
Looking for something more
Don't wanna be nobody else
And you let them know that
It's not you
You're not afraid
Lines around your eyes will disappear

All of this falls down
All of this falls down
Words that will fall out
Faster than your running oh
And i heard that
Did you let them go to waste
The words they will fall out
Faster than your running oh
And i heard that
Did you let them

Tell me if you love someone
Do you love them all

She tells you how to live your life
Looking for something more
Don't wanna be nobody else
And you let them know that
It's not you
You're not afraid
Lines around your eyes will disappear

about the artist

Chosen song - Lines
Artist - Lucy Rose .

Lucy Rose is a 23 year old singer/songwriter from Warwickshire, signed to Columbia Records and has also contributed vocals on two of Bombay Bicycle Club's albums.
I have chosen to use of of her songs because I like her voice/music style and the genre that she falls within. I think I will be able to construct a music video based around an abstract style with this song which is what I wanted to do when I first chose this brief.

Summary of summer work

Over summer I thought about which artist and what song I am going to use in my video and spent a while considering what kind of song I was going to choose.

I had to think about whether I wanted female/male vocals, a band or solo singer etc.
I chose to use a slower song because I think I will prefer filming and editing a more simple video and it could be quite difficult to keep it simple with a faster song.

I created a shot-by-shot storyboard showing a minutes worth of a music video that I thought may be similar to mine once I create it. This helped me get an idea of what I might put into my video and the different shots that can be used to go from each camera change.
(story boards on next post.)

I have decided to use a song called Lines, by Lucy Rose.
