Old fim texture

I have decided to use an old film texture over some shots of the video. I was considering re-filming certain parts that looked a bit dull but tried this instead just to see whether it would improve them and I think it does. I have got a camera out so I can film again this afternoon, I have already edited the footage I filmed last week and will hopefully get todays footage edited together by the end of the week so I still have time to re-film if I choose to.

evaluating what I've done so far

I have filmed again using one of the college cameras. This meaning the quality of the footage is a lot better and I am now able to start editing the shots and putting them all together to create the video properly. I am behind in the project because afirst draft should have laready been uploaded onto my blog but I am willing to put a lot of effort in to try and get the video finished for the deadline which is February half term.

I have made a start on my ancillary texts which I will upload soon along with a first draft of the video.

I plan to film again on Wednesday afternoon, hopefully getting the outdoor shots done.

Problem with first shots

I filmed about half a minute of the video in two of the inside locations on Thursday, this was around ten shots. I uploaded them onto an editing suite and started to organise them into the shots that I was going to keep and ones I wasn't going to use in the video.

Our media technician told me that the quality of my footage wasn't good enough to use in my video and that I would have to re-film if the finished video was going to be decent quality. I need to improve the lighting because what I was using in the two locations weren't strong enough. To resolve this, I am going to ask my boss if i can borrow her studio lights on the days that I am filming because they won't be in use over Christmas while we are closed.

I will be re-shooting all that I filmed last week again and hopefully the rest of the video over the Christmas break so I can spend as much time as I have left on editing.
